Runners Oatmeal Bar

It's almost 2 1/2 months that I haven't give you some stories about my running experiences, the reason is that I have been busy with my work this past few days. I can't refuse from my hobby running, that's why I every morning I am trying to exercise regularly. Especially my wortk is pastry chef, I am surrounded with sweet foods.. hmmmmm ..delicious..

This time, I wanted to share ypu a recipe "oatmeal bar" it is light sweet, nutritious, and good for our health. You can make your own while you are in your own kitchen, just make sure that the things needed for this are complete, and also the ingredients.

So this is it.. These are cholesterol free but not low in fats, so they should be eaten only occasionally.

This are the ingredients:
1 cup unsalted butter
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup honey syrup
2 pcs. egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
1 cup all purpose flour
1/2 cup wheat flour or wheat germ
1 tsp. baking soda
3 cups white oats
1 cup raisin or banana chips

Procedure:
Thoroughly cream butter and sugar. Add egg whites and vanilla. Beat well. Sift together flour and soda. Add to cream mixture. Stir in oatmeal and raisins or banana chips, then honey. Mix well. Form dough in rolls or bar form, to 1 1/2 inches in diameter, wrap in foil or plastic. Freeze thoroughly.
Preheat oven to 190 degrees celsius, with sharp knife ,slice cookies about 1/4 in. ,thick. Bake in ungreased baking sheet for 12 min. or until slightly browned.
Makes about 50- 70 bars.

FANATICS OF MILO MARATHON-PHILIPPINES



Here in Philippines ,especially to Filipinos and foreigner runners ,Milo Marathon is still popular .Even though ,there are many marathon organizers out there, still ,they wanted to run for Milo marathon . Witn a good advocacy of Nestle "Help give a pair of shoes for youths who has talents on running ."

That's the reason why I joined that event and also my running mate Jess Adalia and Joe ,even 10k run .I am proud wearing my Milo green jersey during the race .

In pastry section ,you will not avoid in gaining weight ,so in one month I practiced running 3 times a week (1 hr/10k for these race ). So , my hardships on practicing running i lost 2 kilos from 79 kgs. to 77kgs. Base on the official record ,I'm on the 42 spot overall with chip time 53mins.

I am very happy that I'm at the top 50 out of 1079 finishers. Slowly but surely ,no injury happened .Thanks to our Lord for guiding me and the participants .

VIVA !! FIFA WORLDCUP SOUTH AFRICA 2010



Who knows a chef loves soccer ?
When I was on my elementary years(1978) ,soccer was popular in our school and also here in Philippines . Today ,I'm happy watching this sport live via satellite .But now ,I noticed that only 2% of youths ,knows how to play this kind of sport especially in Western Visayas (Bohol).
Suddenly a year passed by ,the sport basketball entered and became very popular .Our legendary basktball player/icon ,former senator Robert Jaworski aka Jawo ,was the one who brings these sport on some youths .Others ,were involved on individual sport like boxing ,swimming ,running ,and biking etc. Triathlons ,here in our country were becoming popular.
If you will notice in my picture below ,these Kenyan runners were visiting our country just to join some marathons .
To my blogreaders ,especially in Canada ,Mr.Lauren Sheil ,a triathlete ,you are welcome to join here in Philippines ,at Camarines Sur Watersport Triathlon 2010. My fellow Filipinos ,please support and be a part of this said event .

This structure of Fifa Worldcup South Africa 2010 ,was made in styrofoam ,and made by Culinary artist Chef Monet and Emmil of Sofitel Phil. Plaza . This guy was open to teach to those who wanted to learn in arts such as drawing ,painting ,and carving .I like his attitude for being kind and patient .

To Chef Monet ,thank you for giving me a chance to learn basic knowledge about culinary arts.

Pictures during the Natures Valley Run(May 30,2010)




The Nature Valley 2010


I was joined in this event by Abner Tayag,my co-employee.He called me last May 19 at 3pm after my work if I'm available on MAy 30 ,so I agree because it was my free time. He registered me .I dont have any picture of him during the event because he was ahead to me in the finish line. While were runnung ,we talked about my cousin whose with me ,who waited me at the finish line .He was from our province(Bicol) ,but he accompanied me just to watch an actual run.
Erwin(my cousin) wearing green shirt joined and watched mt 21km run. He was my only cousin who was interested in my sport. He wanted to run but i told him that he must have proper practice first. So he watch me from start to finish.

According to my personal time record,I finished the half marathon(21k),at 2 hours and 9mins. I took 32mins. at the first 6km,then 10km where I runned at the Kalayaan Bridge to Buendia and back to Global City where I took 57 mins. At 15km run ,I took 1:28 hours/mins. But I need to run fast ,to reach my target time which was less than 2 hours to finish my 21k run.
But suddenly ,when I reached 17km ,my left foot finger crumped .So the best thing that I did ,was to have a brisk walk ,then after 2mins I recovered ,then I continued my run .

I was very happy when I finished .It also serves as my practice for my next run this Sept 28,2010 .

This is my running mate at Sofitel Philippine Plaza ,who run 10k with 46 mins. and a seconds that I saw him 1k near the Kenyan runner to defeat him in the finish line .
just a few hard practice ,he can defeat him .

Kenyan runner like Anthony(green t-shirt) and the other guy wearing yellow shirt a 10k winner. They are a very nice friends ,and sportminded.We must be openminded in this sport ,that Filipinos are very addicted in running sport.That's what KENYANS say to me yesterday at Pilipino Star Fun Run in MOA Pasay.
So my fellow Pilpino avid runners ,let us practice harder,so we can defeat them.
I will make proper diet and more practice.
